What is personalized send time?
Personalized send time uses AI and reinforcement learning to predict when each individual customer is most likely to open, click, or place an order, then delivers your campaign at that moment in their local time zone.
Unlike traditional send time optimization, which finds one “ideal” hour for your entire audience, personalized send time works at the profile level. Two customers on the same campaign might receive it hours apart, each at the time that fits their engagement patterns. You set a delivery window, and the model handles the rest.

Local time zone delivery for every recipient
A 10 a.m. send reaches someone in New York at 10 a.m. ET and someone in Los Angeles at 10 a.m. PT. For email, push, and WhatsApp, K:AI uses profile-level time zone data. For texts, it determines the time zone based on the recipient's phone number and area code. If the time zone is unknown, the message sends based on your account's default.
Built-in performance measurement
Every personalized send time campaign automatically holds back a control group: recipients who receive the same campaign on a non-personalized schedule based on your typical sending patterns. You can compare open rates, click rates, and placed order rates between the personalized and control groups to see the actual lift, with no extra set-up required.

How to get started with personalized send time in Klaviyo
Personalized send time is available to customers on the Marketing Analytics or Advanced KDP plan.
- Create a single-channel campaign. Build an email, SMS, push, or WhatsApp campaign as usual.
- Schedule at least one day in advance. Same-day scheduling isn't supported yet. Proceed to the Review step and click Schedule or send.
- Toggle on Personalized Send Time. In the scheduling modal, enable Personalized Send Time. K:AI automatically selects the optimal delivery window, and you can adjust the start and end times if you need to.
- Review and schedule. K:AI queues each recipient to send at their predicted best time within the window, in their local time zone.
