  • Do you offer a free tier for email?

    We do offer a free tier. You can create an account, import and sync your data, customize templates and emails, and use many of Klaviyo’s features for free. You can send 500 emails maximum to up to 250 contacts. You’ll be prompted to upgrade once you exceed that limit.

  • How much does it cost to send an MMS?

    Each MMS message costs $.03 while each SMS message costs $.01.

  • What if I have more people than my plan allows, or I need to send more email?

    Don’t worry. If you go over the number of contacts in your plan, we’ll give you the option to upgrade your plan (and we’ll send you a friendly email too). You’ll always be asked to confirm an account upgrade before it happens.

  • How do I pay?

    We accept all major credit cards and you can enter or update your payment details on your account page at any time.

  • I have more questions. How can I talk to someone?

  • How do I change my plan?

  • How does Klaviyo SMS pricing work?

    Klaviyo SMS uses a pay-as-you-go model. Your first 50 messages are free. Then, you can add funds to your account to send additional messages. You’ll only be charged for the messages you send. SMS cost $.01/message and MMS cost $.03/message. You can set automatic refills and monthly limits to further control your spending.

  • How do I set up an automatic refill? How does it work?

    From the SMS Billing page in Klaviyo, you can adjust how your SMS Balance is refilled. Under Refill Settings, you can opt in by setting the refill amount and minimum balance for your automatic refill option.

  • How do I set monthly limits in my account?

    You have the option to set a maximum limit on charges within a single billing cycle. Go to your SMS Billing Refill Settings and enable monthly limits to set your maximum spending limit for text messaging in any given billing cycle.

  • What if I don’t use all the money in my account for a given month? Do I lose that money?

    No. Money you put into your account is yours, and you can use that money to send text messages in subsequent months.

  • How do I buy a short code?

    Within your account, request a short code from the SMS Settings page to start the application process. You should receive an email asking for required information to process your request. Your application will be reviewed within 8-12 weeks by the various carriers. In the meantime, you can continue sending with your existing number and we will notify you as soon as your short code is available.

  • Can I buy more throughput?

    Throughput allows you to process messages faster. If you have a short code or toll-free number you can request an increase to your throughput by contacting our support team. You should consider more throughput if you’re trying to send a large volume of messages in a short period of time.

  • Can I use SMS or Email separately or do I need to buy both?

    You can choose to use each channel separately or together. Email and SMS each have their own pricing structure.
