K:AI (Klaviyo AI) is Klaviyo’s built-in AI operating system for marketing and customer experience. It’s not a separate product—you’re getting a foundational layer that powers the CRM and the features you already use.

K:AI uses unified, real-time customer data to plan, launch, and personalize marketing and service, so teams move from busywork to strategy with less set-up and more impact.

As co-founder of FlowCandy, my team and I have had our finger on the pulse of AI for years now, exploring how it can transform email marketing, streamline workflows, and help ecommerce brands connect with their customers more effectively.

Here are my thoughts on Klaviyo’s latest AI updates.

What sets K:AI apart

K:AI is built on a few simple but powerful ideas:

  • Native data foundation: Unified, real-time profiles power touchpoints across every channel, with 350+ integrations and open APIs so AI works across your entire stack.
  • Embedded where work happens: K:AI lives inside campaigns, flows, Helpdesk, and analytics, and executes within brand and legal guardrails so humans stay in control.
  • 1:1 personalization everywhere: Brands can dynamically target channels, send timing, content, and product recommendations across marketing and service.
  • Network effects and speed: K:AI learns from patterns across a large network of brands and from your brand’s own data, which gives it faster, more accurate recommendations than isolated tools.
  • Open by design: Our MCP server integrates with your preferred AI tools—no lock-in, no walled gardens.
  • Proven innovation: Klaviyo has shipped 40+ AI capabilities since 2017, built specifically for marketing and service.

Together, these elements mean every K:AI prediction and recommendation is context-rich and revenue-focused—autonomous AI that acts, not just suggests.

Strategy planning with K:AI

Strategy planning in ecommerce can feel like guesswork. K:AI replaces gut feeling with predictive, forward-looking insights, with:

  • Predictive analytics: Forecast metrics like customer lifetime value (LTV), churn risk, and next order date so you can segment intelligently and allocate budget effectively.
  • Benchmarks: Compare performance against thousands of brands in your industry, with clear guidance on where to focus improvements.
  • Reviews sentiment: Surface recurring themes in customer feedback to inform messaging and product decisions.

Rather than turning strategy into data science, K:AI replaces guesswork with actionable, predictive insight.

Optimization with K:AI

Optimization used to be slow and manual. K:AI accelerates optimization by interpreting results, identifying the best variables, and applying improvements automatically, with:

  • Personalized campaigns AI: K:AI sends a winning variation for each recipient instead of an overall winner. Then, K:AI explains results in plain language and recommends next steps, so testing becomes actionable, not just informative.
  • Forms display optimization: AI tests and adjusts web form timing and triggers to maximize sign-ups.
  • Smart Send Time: For lists of over 12,000 subscribers, K:AI pinpoints the exact time each subscriber is most likely to engage, driving stronger open and click rates.

Build flows and campaigns faster with Marketing Agent

K:AI Marketing Agent is Klaviyo’s autonomous agentic AI that plans, builds, and launches campaigns, flows, and sign-up forms, always with your oversight and brand guardrails in place.

Marketing Agent was built to solve a simple problem: entrepreneurs and small marketing teams don’t have time or bandwidth. The agent unburdens repetitive planning, content generation, and set-up so teams get time back for strategy while launching higher-quality, personalized programs faster.

“Klaviyo Marketing Agent has been a game-changer,” says Kinga Dow, owner of Kinga Dow Productions. “We tested an educational campaign created by Marketing Agent and generated strong open and click rates, as well as over $4,000 in sales.”

“Best of all, it only took a few minutes to review and launch,” Dow adds. “Before Marketing Agent, a similar campaign could take multiple days to brainstorm, draft, and design.”

“We’ve sent 6 campaigns generated by Marketing Agent to educate our skincare and beauty audience, and it’s outperforming the campaigns we used to create manually,” says Ashfaq Ramjaun, co-founder of Adilson. “We’re seeing a 50% better open rate, 51% better click rate, and 40% better attributed revenue per campaign.”

Start fast: zero to live in minutes

  1. Paste in your website URL and Marketing Agent learns your voice and catalog, then returns a marketing plan and ready-to-send campaigns and flows in minutes.
  2. Marketing Agent then writes and designs your essential campaigns, flows, and sign-up forms. You review and approve, then set them live.
  3. As you keep working with it, it trains on your guidelines and past performance. Marketing Agent also checks copy, offers, and visuals against your tone and history.

“I’m sending out the Marketing Agent recommendations to keep our subscribers active and engaged,” says Ramjaun. “It serves a key need: maintaining consistent engagement without having to manually create emails from scratch.”

“What’s really impressive is how easily Marketing Agent generates content I can send with just a click,” Ramjaun continues. “The immediacy makes a real difference.”

Scale content, not effort: your new on-demand strategist

Marketing Agent keeps your marketing calendar full, automatically. Each week, it generates new campaign ideas and ready-to-send content marketing rooted in your brand voice.

Think quick tips, product recommendations, and industry insights, all crafted to deepen relationships, not just drive clicks. Every campaign is reviewed against Klaviyo’s marketing expertise so you can move from idea to send with confidence.

Connection doesn’t scale without content—and now, you don’t have to scale it alone.

Some motivation to invest in your content efforts:

  • According to research conducted by Klaviyo, content marketing generally outperforms other message types in open rate, click rate, deliverability, and spam rates.
  • The research also found that smaller and growing companies that use content marketing see an average of a 12% increase in Klaviyo attributed value (KAV).
  • Finally, according to the research, accounts that send content marketing grow their KAV more consistently and with less volatility.

Marketing Agent + the K:AI ecosystem

Because Marketing Agent and Customer Agent run on top of Klaviyo’s unified, real-time customer profiles, they don’t require moving data between tools or teaching a separate system to your customers. That means: no new tools to learn, no disconnected data, and fast, on-brand, personalized execution at scale.

Customer Agent: 24/7 brand-trained assistance that converts

K:AI Customer Agent is Klaviyo’s 24/7, brand-trained shopping assistant that answers product questions, recommends items, gives order updates, and escalates to human agents with full context when necessary. It’s built to be brand-aware and to work inside Customer Hub so shoppers get answers without leaving the storefront.

Real impact: Ministry of Supply

Ministry of Supply used Customer Hub and Customer Agent to create a more “bespoke” shopping experience. The results were impressive:

  • 84% of product recommendation chat queries were resolved by Customer Agent in 60 days.
  • 75% of “where is my order” chat queries were resolved by Customer Agent in 60 days.
  • 12,000+ self-serve support interactions completed with Customer Hub in the last year.

Customer Agent is designed to resolve common, routine questions quickly while keeping escalation smooth for complex issues, so your human team can focus on higher-value work.

“Customer Agent was ready to go out of the box,” says Adam Advani, CEO of Ministry of Supply. “That was a huge win.”

Ministry of Supply describes the combination of Customer Hub and Customer Agent as “the future of shopping”: an always-on, one-to-one experience that keeps customers in the moment, raises conversion potential, and upgrades support quality rather than simply cutting headcount.

That framing captures why brands invest in brand-trained AI: it drives conversion while protecting the brand experience.

How Customer Agent works with Marketing Agent

Customer Agent complements Marketing Agent by closing the loop on the post-click experience. While Marketing Agent gets customers into the funnel with timely, personalized campaigns and flows, Customer Agent resolves on-site and post-purchase interactions in a brand-safe, revenue-friendly way—often without a human touch, but always with a smooth handoff when necessary.

This makes the overall Klaviyo experience both acquisition- and retention-friendly.

Channel affinity: how K:AI chooses where to start

Channel affinity predicts the best channels for engaging each customer—email, text messaging, or mobile push—based on past behavior and preferences. That prediction is stored in each profile so you can dynamically route messages to the channels where customers are most likely to engage.

Use channel affinity in segmentation, flow filters, and conditional splits to start a message sequence in the right place and follow up across channels when you need to. Don’t use it as an excuse to shut off other channels. Consumers are omnichannel, and multiple, complementary touches often drive the best revenue.

“Channel affinity has really helped us reduce over-messaging and create opportunities to do more brand-building in extensive flows,” says Luke Styles, CRM manager at Lorna Jane. “I can send prominent communications in the most relevant way for every subscriber in our key flows, like post-purchase, abandoned browse, abandoned cart, and abandoned check-out.”

“It’s faster because it’s less manual and has also allowed us to space out additional content in various formats,” Styles adds.

Image Remix: creative at speed

Image Remix brings image editing into Klaviyo’s email editor, so you can turn a single image into many campaign-ready variations in seconds. Select any image in a template—product shot, lifestyle photo, or campaign banner—click “Remix,” and tell the AI what you want to create or change.

Remix uses Google Gemini’s latest image-editing API directly inside the editor, and supports chat-style prompting in any language. Here’s what it does:

  • Generates tailored visuals in emails, like showcasing Fido when you reach out to dog lovers
  • Tests and iterates without extra tools, teams, or time
  • Leverages Gemini’s image enhancements directly in the editor, with chat-style prompts in any language

Common use cases include:

  • Replacing or adding a product to an image
  • Changing the color of a background or objects
  • Changing an image’s environment
  • Swapping people or models, or adjusting facial expressions
  • Adding products from your catalog to an image (coming soon)

Remix was built to remove creative bottlenecks so marketers and teams with limited design bandwidth can go from idea to execution in minutes, not days.

Klaviyo was the first to integrate the new Gemini Image Generator for this capability, putting advanced image-editing AI directly into the email workflow. That gives teams native, fast, and brand-safe creative options without bouncing assets between tools.

“Image Remix makes it effortless to turn quick ideas into attention-grabbing content,” says Ben Zettler, founder at Zettler Digital. “This is especially valuable when we’re working with brands that don’t have a deep library of creative assets to support their messaging. That golden retriever skateboarding image? It came from a simple prompt in just seconds. The use cases are endless. In some instances, it can even offset the need for expensive photoshoots.”

“For small teams like us that use image-heavy emails and have a lot on our plates, Klaviyo’s new Image Remix feature is awesome,” says Paul Millar, senior CRM manager at Happy Paws. “I can easily change an image’s background (e.g., from black to white) without having to bother our designers, saving both them and me time.”
