Your email and SMS strategy is driving sales. So if something breaks, you’re losing money. Klaviyo is here to help: Now, if certain metrics suddenly drop off a shelf, our new “anomaly detection” feature springs into action, sending you an alert so you can get under the hood, diagnose the issue, and get any broken email or SMS flows back on track.

Broken metrics can remain undiscovered for ages

Say you’re a marketer at an online apparel retailer, using Klaviyo to take your email and SMS marketing to the next level. You’ve set up a few super-smart automated flows to welcome new customers to your brand, nudge them about an abandoned cart, or woo them with new products they’ll love. Behind the scenes, these flows are triggered when a customer takes (or doesn’t take) a certain action, like repeatedly clicking on the same cute sweater but never taking the plunge, or peacing out in the middle of the checkout process. Not only are these flows helping your business build loyalty and sell products —  they save you a ton of time: With flows, you can set them and forget them while the sales role in.

One of your most valuable flows is your abandoned cart flow. Klaviyo is constantly pulling real-time data from your ecommerce platform, and when a customer starts checking out, this flow springs to action: If the customer doesn’t get to the finish line, they’ll get an email a few hours later, with a friendly reminder to help close that deal.

Of course — that’s only if the flow is all set up and working properly, and all that real-time data is flowing like it’s supposed to be. But if Klaviyo isn’t getting your storefront’s data for some reason, it could be days, weeks, months, or forever before you ever know you’re missing the chance to make that sale — and every other sale like it.

Get an alert when your flow isn’t sending as expected

We’ve trained Klaviyo to keep a close eye on the metrics that are powering your automated messages. If something doesn’t look right — let’s say the number of emails sent each day suddenly drops to zero — Klaviyo will let you know.

Klaviyo is keeping tabs when customers add an item to their cart, start the checkout process, and view a product. If you’re using metrics on any of these behaviors to trigger at least one live flow, and Klaviyo detects that something looks broken, you’ll get a notification right on the flows page and via email.

All kinds of things cause these issues: out-of-sync integrations, issues with your JavaScript code, updates to your storefront, and more. Once you get the alert that something’s not quite right, all you need to do is check out the Help Center for step-by-step instructions on how to diagnose the issues and get back on track.
