About the Team
Klaviyo's WhatsApp Expansion team is responsible for driving adoption and improving funnel conversion for WhatsApp, one of Klaviyo's most strategically important emerging channels. As Klaviyo accelerates its international growth—WhatsApp is central to how brands communicate with their customers in mobile-first markets.
This team operates with a growth mindset: running hypothesis-driven experiments, closing funnel leaks, and compressing the time from customer feedback to shipped features. You'll work alongside a sibling WhatsApp Pipeline team focused on backend reliability and infrastructure, while your team owns the customer-facing experience from onboarding through active sending and beyond.
About the Role
We are seeking a Product Manager to help drive the next phase of growth for WhatsApp. You will partner closely with engineering, design, data, and go-to-market teams to expand our mobile engagement platform, improve scalability and reliability, and enhance the overall customer experience.
WhatsApp is already showing strong early product-market fit—daily senders nearly doubled in the months following GA, and brands are seeing meaningful revenue attribution from their first campaigns. This role is about turning that early traction into a scalable growth engine.
This role will play a key part in helping Klaviyo expand internationally where messaging apps like WhatsApp play a central role in customer communication.
What You’ll Do
- Own and execute the WhatsApp adoption-focused roadmap, with a near-term focus on growth drivers (playbooks, improved discovery), onboarding ease of use, and closing competitive gaps.
- Identify and close funnel leaks across the WhatsApp setup and sending journey—from account connection and template approval through first campaign send and ongoing engagement.
- Run rapid, metric-driven experiments to improve activation and adoption, operating in short feedback cycles with a bias toward shipping and learning.
- Define and track success metrics across adoption, engagement, deliverability, opt-in conversion, and system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on multi-channel initiatives, ensuring WhatsApp works seamlessly within Klaviyo's omnichannel flows, campaigns, and forms.
- Gather and synthesize customer and stakeholder feedback to inform prioritization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful launches and adoption in the market.
How You’ll Make a Difference
- Expand and strengthen Klaviyo’s WhatsApp channel, making it a powerful channel for Klaviyo customers to drive revenue and ROI
- Contribute to Klaviyo’s international growth in mobile-first markets such as LATAM and APAC.
- Drive improvements to the self-serve experience that make WhatsApp adoption frictionless
- Strengthen Klaviyo's competitive positioning against point solutions by closing key gaps and delivering a differentiated, platform-native WhatsApp experience.
Who You Are
- 4–6+ years of product management experience, ideally in messaging, growth, or platform products.
- Experience with PLG Experimentation focusing on using the product itself to drive acquisition, activation, retention, and conversion, often involving onboarding optimization, pricing experiments, and in-app “nudges”
- Data-driven and analytical — you use product telemetry and customer insights to inform decisions.
- Experience working on WhatsApp or conversational messaging products is highly desirable.
- Experience building for or working with international markets, particularly LATAM or APAC, is a strong plus.
- Spanish and/or Portuguese language proficiency or experience working with Latin American markets is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable navigating Meta's platform ecosystem, including Business API requirements, template approvals, and policy changes.
- Adaptable and proactive, able to operate effectively in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
- Strong communicator who can translate technical depth into clear customer and business impact.
- Curious and growth-oriented, excited to continue learning and expanding your scope.
