- Over two-thirds of respondents say their summer vacation plans have changed.
- Half of respondents are still planning to do some type of travel this year.
- More people who plan to travel say they’ll buy apparel and accessories in the next month.
Summer vacation will look different this year.
Seventy percent of survey respondents say they’ve changed their summer vacation plans this year, while 22 percent say they haven’t made any changes. Nine percent are still unsure about changing their plans.
Many people are still planning to travel this summer.
Fifty-four percent of respondents say they’re still planning to take a vacation of some kind this summer. Many people mentioned plans to travel to outdoor destinations like beaches, national parks, and campgrounds. Forty-six percent of people say they have no plans to travel this summer.
Summer travelers are looking for new outfits.
Many shoppers plan to refresh their summer wardrobe. Out of those who plan to travel this summer, 57 percent say they plan to buy new clothes in the next month. In comparison, 49 percent of those without summer travel plans say they’re planning to buy clothes soon. As one person said, “I’ve lost weight so [I’m buying] summer clothes that actually fit me.”
