How Klaviyo Helped Brands Prepare Their 2019 Holiday Marketing Strategies—In Person [Part 2]

What’s that sound? It’s the clock ticking ever closer to the busiest time of the year for many ecommerce businesses—Cyber Weekend.

For many brands, this important weekend can be a lot to handle. So we thought, “Let’s send some of our customer success teammates out to meet with members of the Klaviyo community across the country and make sure they’re set up for holiday success.”

And that’s how Project Elf was born—Klaviyo’s Black Friday / Cyber Monday customer success task force.

Last week, we shared a look at how members of the team visited brands like Nested Bean, Audio Advice, and Dollar Days. Missed it? Catch up here

Today, let’s learn more about Rob Allen’s trip down to Savannah, GA where he met the good people from Nine Line Apparel.

Nine Line Apparel has an incredible story. It’s a proudly veteran-owned company that was founded in 2012 in the back of a garage. One of those classic American success stories, Nine Line Apparel has grown to operate a 60,000 square-foot facility outside of Savannah, GA, where they are committed to continuing to create jobs in America.

The brand’s success is due to its mission: start conversations between those who’ve served and those who support them. This mission guides the brand’s growth strategies and they use their ecommerce store to create more conversations between more people.

When it comes to connecting with their audience during this busy time of year, Nine Line Apparel deals with the same challenges other brands face. That’s where Klaviyo comes in.

Rob worked with Fred Harrison, marketing associate, and Damon Paine, marketing consultant for Nine Line Apparel to create a Cyber Weekend battlefield plan that would ensure the brand had a successful season.

Together, they dove into the campaigns the brand had set to launch. They also set up an abandoned cart flow that included average order value (AOV), and specific segments for the holiday season.

Here’s what our friends at Nine Line Apparel had to say about the experience:

“The quality of service from the team at Klaviyo, and their willingness to go above and beyond to guide their clients to create successful email marketing initiatives, is unmatched by anyone else in the industry. We’ve been on board with Klaviyo since the beginning of 2019. In less than a year, with their continued support, we’ve grown our list size immensely, have seen much higher customer engagement with our flows and campaigns, and have been able to grow our ecommerce business exponentially with on-point email execution,” said Fred Harrison, marketing associate at Nine Line Apparel.

“Our account manager, Rob Allen, is one of the best in the business in terms of working alongside us every step of the way on our journey to being the number one veteran-owned and operated apparel company in the country. By offering great email advice, showing us the easy and user-friendly features that Klaviyo offers, and updating us on one-of-a-kind events like Klaviyo:BOS 2019, Rob has proven that strong team relationships are invaluable,” Fred said.

He added, “For example, Rob recently informed us of this incredible opportunity where Klaviyo would fly him down here to Savannah to help us prep and strategize our holiday email marketing gameplan. He spent the entire day working alongside me and my team, helping us to make sure we have a successful holiday season to close out an already amazing year with email marketing. Having him here was priceless and a measure of how much he cares about us, our continued growth, and our drive to be the exclusive patriotic apparel brand that our core audience shops with. My only critique is that I wish he could’ve stayed an extra day here in Savannah to continue kicking butt and taking names! Thank you again from myself and the entire Nine Line Apparel family!”

Damon added, “We got more done in eight hours than in a month of calls and testing. Rob’s constantly helping us to improve and test new strategies.”
