Migrating from Mailchimp to Klaviyo is Easier Than You Think
We know that changing up your digital marketing is not anyone’s ideal way to spend time. With the announcement of the Shopify/Mailchimp breakup, the Academy Team decided to give our article on Migrating from Mailchimp to Klaviyo a lot of new love, so you can seamlessly make the switch and go back to building your brand.
As Mitch covered in his post on How to grow your brand in the post Shopify / Mailchimp Era, integrating with Shopify is really as simple as a click. The article walks through the Mailchimp integration that pulls over all of your customer data, including opened and clicked email metrics. After that data is in Klaviyo, we go through how to use it. If you’re using custom profile properties in Mailchimp, the article also walks you through how to ensure the same information is added to your Klaviyo account.
So you have all the information in your account, what about all of the email templates in Mailchimp? Not to worry! You have a couple of options when you move over from Mailchimp. You can either build out the same templates in our easy to use drag-and-drop editor or export your templates from Mailchimp, swap out a few of the template tags like “unsubscribe” and “manage preferences,” and import those templates back into Klaviyo.
Last but not least, it’s time to cut the cord and sunset your Mailchimp account. We walk you through the last few steps of making sure that you’re all set in Klaviyo, like checking your list growth tools and recreating automated messaging, before removing your Mailchimp integration.
