Magento & Magento 2 Customers: Improved Integrations for Multi-Store Instances

If you’re an ecommerce shop that works in multiple audiences, countries, or languages, there’s a good chance that you’re using a Magento instance that’s configured with multiple store views.  Both Magento and Magento 2 allow you to run several stores through the same instance. You can configure your stores with different looks & feels for different markets and product lines or operate your stores in different languages to support your multinational customers.

Klaviyo is pleased to announce that we’ve upgraded our integrations to fully support multi-store instances for both Magento and Magento 2.  Whether you want to add one or several store views to a single Klaviyo account, you can choose which store views are connected to Klaviyo. We will accept customer profiles and events (such as Checkout Started, Placed Order, and Ordered Product) from only the chosen store view or views.  We’ll also pull catalog data only from the scoped store view(s) so that you can easily build product feeds and product blocks without including any items from a non-scoped store view.

If you’re running a French store and a German store out of the same Magento instance, this means that it’s easy to keep the two stores separate in Klaviyo.  If your Klaviyo account is scoped only to your French store view, you’ll only see the customers and customer actions that happened in your French store, and you’ll see only product descriptions, categories, and metadata from your French store.  You can build segments, flows, and campaigns that will only use data from your French store, and you can use the product categories and tags from your French store to build product feeds and product blocks to include in your email messages. A second, separate Klaviyo account can be used to run your email marketing campaigns for your German store.

At this point you might be thinking, “Whoa, that’s pretty cool, but I don’t want to have to rebuild all of my email templates and campaigns in multiple Klaviyo accounts.  That sounds like a huge drag.” You’re right–it is a huge drag.  That’s where our recently released multi-account feature can make your life much easier.  Multi-account access enables you to easily copy templates and campaigns across any Klaviyo accounts to which you have access.  You can build all of your templates in your French store and transfer them to your German store in just a few clicks.

To use store scoping in Klaviyo, you’ll need to install our newest extension into your Magento account.  If you’re changing the stores scoped to a Klaviyo account, you’ll also need to contact our support team to refresh your product catalog and clear out any products that had previously been integrated but are no longer relevant for the scoped store view.
