TopJob is a Boston-founded ergonomic furniture brand built on the idea that a workspace should feel as good as it looks. Their engineers, designers, and furniture-production veterans design chairs, sit-to-stand desks, and accessories for modern homes and small spaces. They sell primarily through their online store in the U.S. and are expanding into business and retail channels. For the past year, they've used Klaviyo to power their customer relationships.

Learn how TopJob worked with Dynamic Cycle to upgrade from basic Shopify flows to a full Klaviyo lifecycle engine

Challenge

An ergonomic chair or a sit-to-stand desk isn't an impulse buy. Shoppers research, compare, and leave the site before they come back to purchase, sometimes days or weeks later. Early on, TopJob had no CRM connected to Shopify — just paid ads to drive traffic and Shopify's basic transactional emails to confirm orders. There was no way to trigger a message based on what a shopper actually did on the site, like abandoning a cart or browsing a product, and no sequence of follow-up messages to nurture and educate them toward a purchase during that long research window. Once someone left the site, TopJob had no way to bring them back or cross-sell across their growing catalog of chairs, desks, and accessories.

"We were spending to bring people to the site, but once they left, our basic Shopify flows had almost no way to win them back," says Violet Chen, founder and CEO of TopJob. "For a product people need time to think through before buying, that's a lot of lost intent. We needed an owned engine that could handle the follow-up automatically."

Solution

TopJob partnered with CRM and lifecycle agency Dynamic Cycle to build a lifecycle program from scratch in Klaviyo, weaving email and SMS together from day one instead of bolting SMS on later. Dynamic Cycle stood up automated flows, a multi-channel sign-up strategy to grow the list with Klaviyo forms, and segmentation based on behavior and purchasing data.

Now signals like product views, active site sessions, and abandoned carts trigger the right lifecycle journey. Device-specific forms grow the email and SMS list, and segmented campaigns match messaging to what each shopper has browsed or bought—pointing a chair buyer toward a matching desk, or resurfacing the exact model someone left in their cart.

In H1 2026, TopJob saw a >150x return on their investment in Klaviyo, with 86% of that revenue coming from automated flows rather than one-off sends.

"Dynamic Cycle built our whole Klaviyo setup from scratch, and it happened fast," says Chen. "The flows keep working automatically, so our team can focus on other parts of the business."

Strategy

Working in Klaviyo, TopJob and Dynamic Cycle focused on three pillars:

  • Relevant automations throughout the lifecycle: Dynamic Cycle launched a comprehensive array of flows, including messaging triggered by new sign-ups, checkout and cart abandonment, low-inventory, and more.
  • SMS messaging at high-intent moments: TopJob launched SMS alongside email and deployed it selectively at key moments in the customer journey, like cart abandonment and post-purchase follow-up, to complement email rather than duplicate it.
  • A multi-faceted strategy to drive sign-ups: Dynamic Cycle built a multi-faceted sign-up form system, including desktop and mobile email pop-ups and device-specific SMS capture forms, plus a B2B embedded form supporting wholesale and retail growth. That system helped TopJob grow their list 26.9% from July to August 2026.

Starting from zero, TopJob and Dynamic Cycle built a powerful email and SMS lifecycle engine in Klaviyo. Now, TopJob has a playbook they can use to keep expanding into new product categories, customer segments, and markets.

Klaviyo is now the foundation of how we talk to customers. We own the relationship, we can see what's working in real time, and Klaviyo scales with us as we grow into new products and new markets.
