Feature Launch: Integration for Facebook’s Custom Audiences
A few months ago, we posted an article discussing Google AdWords’ new Customer Match feature and its similarities to Facebook’s Custom Audiences. Today, we’re excited to launch our new integration with Facebook, which will allow you to automatically sync your lists and segments with Custom Audiences to create dynamic and targeted Facebook ads.
How Our Integration Works
Before we made this integration, it was possible to sync lists and segments stored in Klaviyo with Facebook by manually exporting them from Klaviyo and importing them into Custom Audiences. Now, however, we have streamlined the process – this sync will be completely automatic. So long as the email addresses in Klaviyo match your customers’ Facebook login addresses, you’ll be able to show them targeted ads through Facebook.
This way, you can use the same targeting you use in your email marketing in your Facebook ads, too. Facebook also has a feature called Lookalike Audiences, which allows you to show targeted ads to Facebook users who are similar to those on your existing contact list. Facebook determines these similarities based on geography, overlapping “likes,” and other factors. Since you’ll now have Klaviyo’s dynamic lists and segments in Custom Audiences, you’ll be able to reach a larger and more diverse market through Lookalike Audiences as well.
What This Means for Ecommerce Store Owners
This new integration will make your Facebook advertising a much simpler process. Since your lists and segments will sync in real-time, you can ensure brand continuity across all your different marketing mediums.
Even better, you can use Klaviyo’s advanced segmentation tools to run highly targeted ads for your customers on Facebook. If you have a segment built for customers who haven’t purchased in the past 30 days, for example, you could offer members of this segment a special promotion via Facebook ads. Another, broader strategy could be to market separately to men and women by creating a segment of male customers and a segment of female customers, so that female customers see women’s products and male customers see men’s. You could also run ads featuring one product for a segment of people who have already purchased a related or complementary product.
Ultimately, the use cases for this integration are endless. However you choose to market to your customers via email, you can now extend the same tactics to Facebook to create personalized ads.
How to Integrate with Facebook
You will find the Facebook integration in your Integrations Tab. Simply enable the integration, and you’ll be redirected to Facebook so Klaviyo can be authorized. Once back in Klaviyo, you choose which lists or segments you’d like to sync by selecting the particular list or segment from the Lists & Segments Tab and editing the settings.
This integration is quick and easy, and will allow you to fully utilize Klaviyo by extending our advanced segmenting capabilities to Facebook. This, in turn, will revolutionize your Facebook ad campaigns and allow you to be as targeted as you’d like.
