As we’ve tracked the pandemic’s impact on ecommerce, a few key trends have emerged. We’ve seen a sudden spike in demand for product categories that help people make the most of time at home, like electronics, housewares, and office supplies. As a result, we refer to those categories collectively as new essentials.

On the other hand, industries like jewelry and consulting services have experienced declining in demand based on consumer lifestyle changes. As a result, we refer to these categories as non-essentials.
