Why You Should Consider Attending: Shopify Unite is a conference for Shopify Partners and Developers to come together to learn from each other and discuss the future of ecommerce technology. As one of the leading ecommerce platforms, this is a conference that any Shopify developer or partner should not miss.

Here are three things we learned about the future of ecommerce at Shopify Unite 2019.

How do you choose which ecommerce conferences to attend?

Whether you’re brand new to ecommerce or you’ve been selling online since the early days of the internet, attending any of these conferences is a great way to make new professional connections and learn from the brightest minds in the industry. But with so many choices and locations, how do you choose which is worth your time and money?

The most important thing to ask yourself is what you’re hoping to get out of it. If you could walk away with just one takeaway, what would it be? New business prospects or partnerships? New ideas, strategies, or tactics? If you’re looking to network, some conferences may offer more opportunities (i.e., happy hours, etc.), while others may stay focused only on content (i.e., keynotes and breakout sessions without many networking opportunities).

Once you have an idea of what you’re hoping to get out of the conference, check out what others have to say about it. All of the conferences featured on this list are annual shows that have had at least one event. Check out who the event has featured as past speakers and what types of topics they’ve covered. These are a great indication of what type of content you can expect at the next conference.

Also, consider the size of the event. Some of these conferences have tens of thousands of attendees across a wide variety of industries and specializations, while others (like Klaviyo:BOS) are smaller and create a more intimate experience.
